Nice, I hope to get one someday, I wonder what the maximum wattage was, I would guess 400?

Nice, I also hope I can get one of these someday, they were used quite a bit here back when the MTO (Ministry of Transport, Ontario) used to light up their signs, but now only a few disconnected ones remain.

I have a drawing of this that shows it having a F-Can ballast, is yours like that?

Thanks Niall and Joseph, probably the maximum wattage would be 400W for this fixture,a 400W lamp and gear should fit.This one has a core and coil ballast.
