Homebrew Mercury Floodlight
don't know what purpose the Aluminimum Pan was originally served (Food Dish Maybe?) but i used it for a Reflector, the Slipfitter is one of those things that Wires enter the home at the top of the Pipe before the wires go to the meter and into the house (Forgot the name lol)

the Pan does a bit too well in Reflecting Heat from the lamp as there is a noticeable warmth about 12 Inches in Front of the light beam, the Whole Reflector, even the part furthest from the lamp gets Hot,probably due to aluminimum being a pretty good conductor, what do you think Guys.

Fixture is not built to UL specs obviously, lol

It's .. uh ... interesting Laughing (J/K) I actually quite like it Very Happy

Interesting, looks a bit like a older MV light,
BTW, the slipfitter is also called a weatherhead. Wink

I see this fixture is precision made and complies to all applicable form 109 requirements and features the patented type 109 socket design. Shocked Razz

Just don't leave it on too long or you'll get molten metal. Razz Laughing I like this little floodlight. It has that nice "character" to it that most lights today lack.
GullWhiz   [Jun 25, 2011 at 09:20 PM]
this is a scary setup!!! I ain't gonna land on it nor go to the bathroom anywhere near it!
Form109   [Jun 26, 2011 at 12:33 AM]

joe_347V   [Jul 30, 2011 at 03:56 AM]
Shocked A rubber socket, you mean like those temp ones at the hardware store?
Form109   [Jul 30, 2011 at 04:01 AM]
no it was the Rubber Foot that goes on the bottom of a Cane....and the contacts are wires wrapped around screws drilled into the base. Laughing
joe_347V   [Jul 30, 2011 at 04:07 AM]
Shocked Shocked It's not even a real socket, No wonder gulls won't land on it.

GullWhiz   [Jul 30, 2011 at 05:09 AM]
