you know....a while back i did an Experiment when i Took a Bare Arctube and Connected two Small incandescent Lamps to the Starting Resistor...when the Lamp was started the Lamps Glowed Dimly...after a Short while they Went out,pretty Cool...and yes i had the Arctube behind a Heavy Glass.

Yeah, I did do an experiment with 250 Watt Mercury Lamp using the incandescent bulb years ago. I did attempted to apply 250 Watts of incandescent bulb all together and made it in series circuit. It worked for a bit before it extinguished. That was my first attempt to make my own ballast since I didn't have a ballast for the 250 Watt version...

Caster 175W Clear MV Arctube Closeup

Here's a close up shot of a 175W Caster clear mercury lamp running on a yardlight fixture, the yellow light you see reflected on the arctube is a HPS or LPS light I was running when I took the pic. (I don't recall which lamp was it)
