There's a Sonic Drive In near me that has Two 1000 Watt MH Floodlights illuminating the parking lot,i noticed back in 2008 one of the floodlights were buring much dimmer than normal in a Greenish hue...and the other one was lit very darkly with a dim green glow,Two years later the Dark one is no longer lighting and the other one continues to Glow Greenish but it is now Flickering.
By the way, Gaash lighting in Israel also manufactures these High bays with an intermediate lighting of 250W linear halogen lamps. I think this mothed of intermediate lighting works only on CWA ballasts as in highbays with a reactor ballast for european lamps there is no any intermediate halogen lighting at all.
And indeed, supermarkets in Israel which uses highbays or lowbays installs a seperate fluorescent intermediate lighting instead. Some are lighted always and some are lighted only after a power interruption for several minutes (Can be up to 15 min).
Form109: Greened out MH lamps i saw in Israel only Daylight MH based on rare-earths and ceramic MH lamps when passed their rated life. They were greened out because of the domination of the thallium iodide in the discharge and not related to the mercury like in your case.
FGS....sometimes they don't explode.....I have a few lamps that didn't explode, just won't start up.....even pulse start sometimes just stop firing up....
