@dor123: This pricing list are in US$ and in US Gallons (3.78 litres). We have 87, 89 and 91/93 octane rating with regular, plus and premium unleaded gasoline. We banned leaded gasoline in the early 1990's.
There is also 85 Octane, which I've seen in high regions, like Montana, Wyoming, Colorado and New Mexico.
As far as lead is concerned, it's still used in AvGas, but if you have a road vehicle that requires it, lead additive must be added to unleaded gas.
It did a couple things. First, it was an octane booster to prevent detonation, second it helped the valve seats make a good seal. It also prevented fuel line corrosion and bacterial growth; two issues with alternative antiknock agents of that time. It was phased out because of its toxicity and because it would fowl catalytic converters.
@form109: yes I've seen a lot of sign ballasts they are white plasic is my guess, the older ones were metal and rusted
@gullwhiz: they tend to fry some lamps as fast as 2 years due to overpowering smaller sizes and the current crestfactor Is probably high too
Cheaper than here by a little bit. The tax there must also be around half the cost of the fuel then, as well as assorted duties and road fund contributions. Though here the price of petrol is regulated, but diesel is only controlled to a maximum price, allowing discounting of the retailer's margin, generally around 25 cents per litre. Here also it is mandatory full service.
What is your pricing in NIS in litre?
i Think in the US Regular is 87 Octane,Mid Grade 89,and Premium 92-93.
I Like the OVM too!....it's the most common cobra in my Area in Fact...they have them all over the city.

@A_Lights have you seen a Sign Ballast?...they are White Right?

One the other hand gas is even more expensive in Canada, it's currently around $1.30 CDN/L or $5.17 USD/gal here for regular.
