Thanks guys! @ Mike, unfortunately not the original lamp and pc,but has the original ballast. These fixtures were in use here, but were completely wiped out 20 years ago with the HPS changeover.
I always loved those Unistyle 175 fixtures (Mostly because my street was lit by them when I was young) I remember when they were replaced when I was about 12 I asked for one my and the Lineman said "Here you go Kid" but my mom was like "Oh no you don't those things have mercury in them"
There were a lot of those in PEPCO but they are disappearing fast in place of the AE 115 FCO HPS because PEPCO is going MASSIVE HPS changeout right now...
BGE does not have as many of those but they are NOT rare though. We have a long line of those near me on a road...
West Penn Power has plenty of Unistyle 175's in their area. Duquesne Light used to have many Unistyle 175's but most of them were replaced in 2007 because of several high pressure sodium upgrades. The ones that are still left will also be replaced with high pressure sodium street lights when the lamps fail since this power company doesn't want to maintain their mercury vapor street lights anymore.
There's only around five or so of them left in Markham too, the retrofitted ones are slowly being replaced as the ballasts and ignitors fail since our utility dosen't replace them anymore.
How come some unistyle 175s have the PC socket at the very very back and others have it in the same spot as above? Personally i prefer the PC socket being where it is above...
@streetlight98, it depends on when they were manufactured and by whom. Remember that the Unistyle series were originally manufactured by Line Materials and the LM versions were the earlier ones with the P-cell closer to the tail of the fixture. Also, with the Unistyle 400, there were two different refractors used. Again, it depends on when they were manufactured and by whom.
