LED Traffic Signal Modules
Here's a couple of traffic signal modules that I recently found at a surplus store, the one on the left is GE amber light like [url=http://www.galleryoflights.org/mb/gallery/displayimage.php?pos=-1604] this one[/url] in Vince's collection and the one on the right is a Dialight green light.

(Note: I used to call them lenses but have renamed the title to modules)

its Actually more of a Lamp Module than a Lense...but cool find...the Dialight LED Modules are very popular, they exceed the GE GELcores in Popularity, but i think both are swell. Cool

Thanks, I didn't know what they were supposed to be called so I just called them the lenses. I've seen the Dialights used here before and maybe the GE's too. I've also a pixelated LED signal used here too.

BTW The GE is supposed to be the same size as the Dialight but the camera made it look smaller.

Can you take a pic of the inside of the dialight LED one?
Form109   [Aug 19, 2010 at 06:10 AM]
the Pixelated LED's actually use Individual 5mm LED Diodes...Vs the Dialights and GELcores which use a Few Larger LED Lamps behind a Lense assembly....i think thats how those are made.

but a Pic of the Insides would be Great.

No. GELcores use pixelated LED's. Take a look inside of a GELcore:

@Ian, I would but I can't find a way to open it up, it seems the front lens is sealed on to the body and there's no screws visible in the back.
Form109   [Aug 19, 2010 at 06:28 AM]
that looks like an Older GE...the newer GELcores look like what Joe has.

and the Term Pixilated is not very fitting actually....there are no Pixels in LED's Razz
LilCinnamon   [Aug 19, 2010 at 06:52 AM]
Actually that was a GELcore which looks exactly what was in joe's picture with the lens taken off. I only have 3 GELcores. a red, yellow, and a green. Thats all I have for traffic light.

Oh, The dialight? Oh I see. Is it clipped on like the GELcore?

BTW Here is the product sheet of the Dialights: HERE

Sweet! Cool

@Ian, nope it's not clipped on like the GELcore but the lense is glued onto the housing with silicone.

@Vince, Thanks Cool

Can you take a picture of the back of the module? I would like to see it.
