Standard Signal Installation
Here's a pic of a standard non MTO (MTO likes using the thick round poles) installation here. Note the LED left turn arrow that's common here, it starts off green to indicate a protected left and then switches to amber when the left is about to end and the lights will change to green soon. The older turn arrows were fibre optic and used two halogen lamps...one for the amber and one for the green. Those are very rarely seen after the LED conversion. 

I haven't seen any doghouses here though or in other parts of Canada.

I like those style arms on the wooden poles...with longer neck...I never seen those in this size..I only saw the shorter ones like this in NJ (6 to 8 feet long)

Yep, we switched from imperial units to metric in '77 so all the signs are in km/h now.
