A doghouse traffic light with a replacement visor that doesn't match!
It is in front of my college campus entrance...This one directs the cars that are exiting the college campus...I believe it is serviced by the county, not the state
I see that from time to time.....not too often.....but from time to time....also I have often noticed...if it is a STATE traffic light..they tend to be more upgraded, and most are LEDs (with some left over incandescent) and black doors and visors with yellow body....for county serviced traffic lights...it varies..and sometimes State installs it then it BECOMES a county setup......There are a lot of incandescent traffic lights still around....mostly county ones....Streetlights are serviced depending on where it is for county streetlights on traffic lights, some are serviced by county utilities..(and some aren't very good) while others are serviced by the local electrical company (not all electrical companies would do that but mine does)
Most traffic lights here are LED. Most were retrofits and not replacements. If the paint was faded or chipped or the poles were rusted, they got replaced.
Most of the trafffic lights here are LED too, my area replaced all their old signal with new poly ones but other areas retrofitted most of their signals instead.
