A damaged 60s fixture
This is the same fixture as [url=http://www.galleryoflights.org/mb/gallery/displayimage.php?pos=-7890] those fixtures [/url] except this one was in Virgina which I found on the way back home from North Carolina.

This one is damaged and it seems to have the original cleartop 1000 watt MV lamp! There was others in this same gas station which was intact. Still trying to find out who made those!

Interesting fixtures, never see them before though!

i've seen some of these in New,Iberia i think...or at least similar.

Looks like the lamp is doomed.

Interesting fixture as well. That other picture reminds me of the L-250 or L-150 in a big floodlight way.

Time to park my dad's F-150 under this with a matress in the bed and wait for the reflector and lamp to be MINE!! HAHAHAHAHA!!!
Form109   [Dec 29, 2011 at 08:22 PM]
i think at the height it was falling from it would bounce off the matress then smash on the ground.

Call me crazy, but after reading your comment I got my Sylvania 400w merc lamp and stood up on my bed and dropped it on the matress and it didn't fall off or come close to it. Razz Laughing Shocked Obviously, this light is higher than a 6 1/2 foot drop though.
joe_347V   [Dec 29, 2011 at 09:30 PM]
Why would you do that? Mad Shocked
streetlight98   [Dec 29, 2011 at 09:47 PM]
I don't know. It was in it's sleeve. Razz
joe_347V   [Dec 29, 2011 at 09:51 PM]
That's better, I though you were just dropping the lamp. Shocked
streetlight98   [Dec 29, 2011 at 10:11 PM]
no! If i was doing that I'd get a lamp without mercury and one that's a lot cheaper. I'm to cheap to ruin a good lamp that costs $15. Razz
