Several months ago my neighbour's OVZ took a dump.Seems like he didn't tighten up the slipfitter bolts enough,it survived the fall and was re-installed.
Yep, the lamp survived. The wire terminals couldn't have been very tight either as the wires pulled out,yes I will have to double check and make sure the bolts are nice and tight.
I'm surprised that everything survived, I thought at least the lamp or the drop lens would be toast. You should make sure he has everything nice and tight next time.
Yes it's surprising, maybe the lawn softened the impact,it must have landed on it's side. If it was hanging briefly by the wires it would have been hanging straight down, then when it fell away gravity tilted the heavier ballast/slip fitter end over to level the fixture at impact lol.
How can Philips, 30000 hour lifetime, and non-cycling all go together in the same sentance? Are they Alto lamps? What kind of photocell is on the light?
Yes it's an Alto I hope it will last along time. I think it made it through it's first night without any problems. The photocell is a grey Longjoin thermal.
Yes Darren is clever with his titles. BTW, is the arm at a 45-degree angle upward or is it just the pic? Because if it's tilted that far up, I'm wondering how it could have fallen off lol. I've seen loose lights end up facing sideways lol. If they centered the weight of the fixture like older fixtures then they wouldn't tilt to one side when loose. My M-250A is heavier on one side though so if i lay it upside down on the floor, it falls to a certain side.
Hehe glad you like the titles. Still working great. My neighbour said he backed into the pole with his tractor It was enough of a jolt to knock it off.
Darren, you're hilarious with your titles!
