Westinghouse 100w Turtle-Lite
During '78-'82 Westinghouse marketed this as a "slow burn" bulb, guaranteed to last for two years or 2500 hours. Seems Philips of today still has a similar marketing philosophy by emphasizing longer life soft white bulbs, although they are starting to push towards CFLs and LEDs. Manufactured in '80 at the Little Rock, AR lamp plant.

I remember those, but I think they were Philips branded...

Gull, the ones you saw were prolly the IQ series which had chips in the bottom contacts of the bases. They came in several types such as Dimmer, Auto-Off, etc. I have a few.
