Oh well that makes sense then lol. What's the ballast factor of the ballast you used? high, 1.0, normal, or low?
lite_lover   [Jul 10, 2014 at 06:12 AM]
It's a normal power factor ballast.

Update: The lamp developed a leak Crying or Very sad It did 9 months, not sure if the leak was the result of running it on the electronic ballast or if it was a poorer quality lamp and would have failed anyway, the lamp looked fine the day before but now it's pretty black lol.

Aw man. Sad What brand was the lamp? i thought Philips was the only one who still made them?I guess you can try it again and see what happens? Neutral

Did it light somewhat with the leak? Hope it was just a defective lamp.
lite_lover   [Aug 30, 2014 at 08:47 PM]
Yes it still lit up dimly and the metal parts were glowing like a little neon lamp lol. Hopefully it was just a defective lamp, I will have to get another one and try again.

It is just the lamp, I only use OSRAM lamps they work very nice. this is a 35 so 2 lamp 32w T8 ballast is very good.
lite_lover   [Aug 30, 2014 at 09:38 PM]
Ah thanks good to know,I will try to find OSRAM lamps.
traffic light1   [Aug 31, 2014 at 12:45 AM]
I get them off eBay, they have some 35w right now. I have worked with LPS for years now and have found all the right LPS and T8 ballast combinations.
lite_lover   [Aug 31, 2014 at 03:34 AM]
Ah great, thanks I will check them out on ebay.
traffic light1   [Aug 31, 2014 at 03:42 AM]

lite_lover   [Aug 31, 2014 at 03:54 AM]

Never use a GE LPS lamp on a electronic t8 ballast I have herd bad things.
lite_lover   [Aug 31, 2014 at 04:17 AM]
Oh I see, good to know not to use GE's with electronic T8 ballasts, best then to use OSRAM or another Philips.
traffic light1   [Aug 31, 2014 at 05:18 AM]
Phillips sounds good, I have some 18w Flex Vison ones and they do great they are $47 for 1 18w Shocked VL LPS is the best price but have a lower life.
lite_lover   [Aug 31, 2014 at 05:42 AM]
Usually Philips lasted me an average of three years but this one lasted 9 months.
traffic light1   [Aug 31, 2014 at 01:41 PM]
Phillips is in decline badly I see it with Chloride, emergency lighting branch of Phillips.
traffic light1   [Aug 31, 2014 at 04:04 PM]
The photo cell is a good one right? I had a photo cell that would turn on and off 4 times before it would make up its mind. That is very bad for LPS, LED would like that because it is less heat Laughing
lite_lover   [Aug 31, 2014 at 09:11 PM]
Yes the photocell is good.
