Mine is actually being used/lit as I'm typing this comment, and has been every day so far, but fluorescents last a long time in residential use and it might only see another 18 months or so of use anyway before I move on to college...then only on breaks (a couple months in the summer, a couple weeks in the winter) then maybe not much at all after that, or REALLY heavy, depending where I live after college.
You know.. there is something to be said for using fluorescent's and getting the enjoyment out of seeing them lit.
I've thought about the facts that:
* I'm old
* I have "all that stuff" (lamps/ballasts/fixtures) just sitting around...
* Most people would probably it as 'junk' who knows what'll happen to it when I go EOL
When I die, like with most other lighting enthusiasts, there will be one hell of an estate sale at my house lol. I plan to give/sell my more valuable/rare stuff to younger collectors when I'm on my way out. But then again, who's to say that there will be any warning when the time comes...
LOL yeah, I've thought the same thing. If I had someone else in my area with such an interest I'd will it to them but don't have that option.
LOL at "One hell of an estate sale", you already have probably more than I do!
How are these compared to a regular 75w in terms of cold weather starting/flicker?
Yep standard 75w!
I've never put one out in the cold to test how they do.
@Mike:
Same here. Its one of my favorite etches!
