[Gone] Truss Lights on Highway 401/403/410 Interchange Here's a shot of the kind of truss arms that Ontario used to use for freeway lighting. You can see a newer pole in the background that replaced an truss light and the concrete bases for new highmast poles as well as the poles themselves that are going to replace these truss lights. Those high masts are now up, a few have fixtures but most don`t yet, I also noticed some of the old high mast fixtures on the ground, I wish I could get one but can never find out who to ask, that said I think the old high mast may just be 400 watt HPS so it wouldn`t really help me in what I really want a 1000 watt HPS.

Have you tried contacting the MTO about who the contract for the lighting replacement went to? Anyways it's kind of a shame to see these truss lights get removed as they were kind of unique looking. I still remember when most of the 401 was lit with these truss lights mounted in the median. I think I've seen the high masts up the day I came for the R47 and B2255 lights though.

The MTO was the first place I tried, sadly I was shuffled from place to place for more then two hours Shocked at that point I gave up trying to talk to the MTO Rolling Eyes If I really want one I will probably find a worker there and ask for one, I did that once before when I was asking for a Form400 Power-Pack from a demolition site, only to learn it had been trucked away an hour before Mad

Hmm figures, anyways I think the contract for this project was number 2009-2031 and went to Dufferin Construction Company. (Link doesn't work so google the contract #)

Well I noticed today there is a large cobra pile starting at the contractor onsite yard now, I may be getting some lights soon!

What lights may you be getting Niall? If any OVX's can I have one of those? You kind of owe me one from the failed attempt in the past. xD

Hmm I didn't recall seeing any OVXs in this interchange but feel free to look around.

His area uses a lot of OVXs so I'm pretty sure he should be able to get you one.

I haven't seen any OVXs at this interchange, I think there may be some arms but I didn't get a very good look when driving by at 80 km/h.

This got removed sometime in 2012 if I remember correctly.

Yeah. They also removed the 5 year nonworking R47 and AE 125 on truss lights on the 410 as well
