I used to come through here when I was younger and I remember when R37's were the only fixtures along here. Then the handful of OV-15's came in and now just AE 115's.
I also heard these were on a relay together on the news after a reoccurring outage there I believe last summer.
The next pole appears to have R37s without PC receptacles and these 115s look like they've got DTL shorting caps so that supports the group-switching theory.
Ahh, I had a feeling they were all originally R37s. Yeah I know Toronto has a lot of lights on utility poles with group switching. Markham on the other hand seems to avoid group switching, these lights were all originally group switched and later converted to PCs and wireless controls.
Well here in town down the road where I live there are actually big transmission power lines (probably 115 kV) in the median, but I guess this is a special exception because there is a creek down the middle of the road as well, so it's more built around it then built with it.
There's a couple of roads here with tall high voltage lines running down the median but yeah it's not very common. Newer lines are usually in their own ROW.

While on that map also I had to go 'look at' the streetlights in that park off to the left
