McGraw Edison Unidor 400
Here's a pic of a McGraw Edison Unidor 400, there's still some of these left in my area but they're getting less and common.

Note that the info on the tag below doesn't match the faded NEMA tag, the watts on the tag is 400w while the faded NEMA tag says 200w. Could be a mercury to sodium conversion but the model number suggests that it was originally sodium since it has the LU prefix that's commonly used for sodium lumes.

Thanks, I've just noticed that the description doesn't make sense too. Laughing

McGraw Edison Unidors are a fairly rare site to me...a few locations i can recall them...such as an Ace Parking Lot in Daingerfield,Texas...Along Interstate 20 in Meredian,MS which actually has both the 250 and 400 Sizes with a few Revere 2700's sprinkled in,they are all HPS which is kinda neat..then there's a pet supplies store right here in tyler with a few pairs and those are mercury.

I'm guessing not many utility companies liked these too much which explains why they're so rare. There's a few in RIDC Park off of Route 28 in PA, other than that I haven't seen too many of them at all.

I wonder why these weren't liked that much. These were designed to by lineman friendly. I've never seen one of these in person exept when I went to Marblehead, Massachusetts.

Update, This or another Unidor from this string was replaced by a FCO AEL 125. Confused

Can't be 200w in '74, that wattage would not be introduced until late '77 or '78. Prolly converted to 200w HPS.

Ahh, thanks Dave, I guess they stuck the NEMA tag on when they converted it 200w.

It must have been '77 since in my '77 GE catalog 200W HPS wasn't listed as a standard model number. The catalog listed it as an option on the side like.
