According to Google, this one is still in service. I also noticed this one has a replacement refractor. The Powerlite mini gumballs came with a deeper and tapered refractor.
Awesome that it's still around in 2016. MVs are not nearly as common up there as they are here in RI. Though one of the most MV-concentrated towns in RI (Westerly) has announced plans to look into buying ownership of its street lights from NGrid, meaning an LED conversion in the future. Going from MV to LED will actually save them a heck of a lot though! Lots and lots of 60s and 70s mercs down there though! OV-15s, LM Unistyles, M-250R1s, M-250A2 FCOs, OV-25s, M-400 split doors, M-400R2s, and OV-10IBs. I'd love to save some of those mercs but I never go to westerly and dunno where they're hauling the fixtures off to.
Yeah although I think this might be a private lease light since it's lighting the driveway more than the road. Still kinda neat to see a remote ballasted MV left in Brampton.
Ah no PALs here. NGrid and Narragansett Electric would only lease to the municipality, so the lights here that are lighting businesses or otherwise not on public roads are actually paid for by the city. The business would have to send a formal request to the municipality for a PAL. I guess technically they still are PALs since they're lighting a private area (aka not the street) but they're not PALs in the sense that they're not privately funded.
Hmm, if the construction is catching up, I guess they'll soon widen Heritage. I wonder if they'll transfer this one or replace it with something like a HPS or a LED. PAL lights are offered here but aren't very common. Most people will mount their own light. I believe the most common PAL lights here are Powerbracket style fixtures.
Yeah streetview distorts stuff sometimes lol. One time I thought there was an LED on a pole in my area on streetview but the light just happened to get cropped out between two pictures and what was left looked flat like an LED. But it made me look a bit closer lol.
Technically the refractor in the light currently is the replacement refractor lol, but yeah Streetview sometimes distorts stuff so I usually check another angle. Here's what the original glass looks like. It's has a unique tapered side compared to regular gumball glass.
Hmm, it seems like from the September 2016 streetview, it got replaced with a 70w HPS OVZ. I'm thinking this is some sort of lease light and they didn't have any MV lamps on the truck.
