Where there any other cobras removed? I wonder if they may of been relamping the lights too, I seem to recall may of them being out last time I was out there at night, I hope they are taking them down though, another winter and gravity may take them down. Shocked

Well they switched the circuit on when they were there (this pole was disconnected) but I'm not sure if they removed any more. I've noticed that some poles had already been replaced with temp wood poles though.

Those wood poles have actually been up for awhile, I think about a year. They may of just been relamping, I know a lot of these lights are out.

Hmm I guess they were relamping then since I didn't notice any lights that were out when I went back. Anyways there's a pile of underpass wallpacks and traffic signals next to the ramp from SB 410 to WB 401.

Yeah I noticed that before, around the lighting control building there is also a pile of cobras, I only noticed that last time I drove along there since they are rather hidden.

Update: these and all the old 60s concrete light poles were removed sometime in May-June. The lanes are also closed for repaving with concrete.

hmm using concrete? sounds good to me! lol Here they simply scrape up the old asphalt around the storm drains and pave over the existing pavement, which i find pointless with really bad roads since the already cracked up asphalt quickly ruins the fresh pavement. Plus it makes the curbing shrink over the years. Laughing I've always wondered why the curbs on older roads look so short while newer roads have higher curbs.

I've noticed that MTO in the last ten years or so started using concrete on new freeways or during major repaving like in here. We used to use concrete from the 30s to the early 70s but then they switched to repaving with asphalt over the old concrete when it started to wear out. New freeways at the time were also paved with asphalt.
