Philips RS Ballast
Also from Restore, here's a Philips full power F40T12 ballast from the 80s. These Philips ballasts were quite common here in Canada until the late 90s. Note that unlike the US equivalent models, the Canadian ballasts tended to also list 30w 3 footers in addition to the standard 4 foot 34w and 40w lamps. This one can also run 32/40w circline lamps too.

nice ballast! wonder what those 3 stars are for on the right?

Thanks, not sure what the stars are for though but my guess is efficiency. I know the LPF ballasts have one star and F32T8 magnetic ballasts have five stars.

nice! BTW there are a lot of nice ballasts, quite a few Bonuslines actually, that are on ebay! type in "fluorescent ballast" and look at the first few pages (with 200 results per page) and you'll find a nice hull. i didn't take down links while i was browsing though.

Nice! Is this pretty much an Advance Kool-Koil?

Should be similar, one interesting thing with these (and a lot of other Canadian ballasts) is that they are also rated for use with F30 lamps while most of the US ones I've seen are rated for F40 lamps only.

I've seen LPF ones rated that way but not the full-power HPF ones...I've heard those will still work for testing F30s...although I'd think they might be a little overdriven...
