Ah thanks. I've always paid attention to the different color "caps" on the lights ever since I was a little kid and since then I've just been paying closer and closer attention to them. I have a collection of PCs with some Fisher Pierce PCs. I have a blue Fisher Pierce from 2nd Quarter 1965 that looks like yours but with no skirt. The housing is full of cracks from years of service though but despite that, it still works! (although not very sensitve).
Those 60s Fisher Pierce and Ripley photocells were built like tanks! very thick plastic case and they seemingly last forever! Is the one above NOS? In fact, the entire fixture looks like it just rolled off the assembly line.
Actually Steve Z. (SLZ) gets credit for the condition. Years ago he had the good sense to rescue a bunch of incandescents and mercs from Mass. Electric, cleaned them up and took good care of them. I was lucky enough to buy a couple off of him and they are in unbelievable condition.
Ah, Steve! I've heard nothing but great things about him. I'm getting a couple lights from him as well. An incandescent NEMA from the 1960s (I think) with a crescent moon reflector like above (but not series wiring type, just 120V) and an early 1980s GE M-150A/M-250A2 FCO. I look forward to meeting him.
Mass Electric (MEco) sister company is Narragansett Electric (NECo), which was the old utility company in Rhode Island. Their parent company, New England Electric System (NEES) was bought out by a company from the UK called National Grid (NGrid) in 2000. NGrid also bought out another area utility company called EUA (Eastern Utilities Associates) which ran a number of small utility companies in RI and MA.
