OLD Mast arm!
This is a rusty old steel 8' overbraced upsweep arm holding a M-250R2 that looks pretty recent. There's always been a M-250R2 on this pole as far back as I can remember, but the old one probably died. This one still has the remote PC and ballast can on the pole too! When the pole gets renewed though nothing except the wires will be transfered. Not even the light and mast arm since the arm's all rusted out, though probably in perfect shape srength-wise.

That ballast can is wider and isn't rusty unlike the ballast cans with the underbraced aluminum upsweep arms which are narrow and rusty.

I remember these with GE Form 109s!

Sweet! There are still a few of these left on reservoir ave but they're being replaced by 6' upsweep arms as the poles are renewed. Hopefully a group pole renewal doesn't happen on Reservoir Ave since these arms will be wiped out. If only they were aluminum then they might stand a chance of being transfered even though the ballast can and remote PC don't stand a chance.

Cool, we still have a few rusty 50s arms left here although the clamshells and ballast cans are long gone though. Some newer poles here have oddly kept their ballast cans but they're removed when the pole is renewed.

Here if the arm isn't rusty it'll get transferred but the ballast can and remote PC never have a shot at getting transferred. We have so many really old poles in Cranston though that the number of balalst cans is quite high. I could reconnect about 1/4 to 1/5 of the 250W HPS lights back to 400W MV without buying anything except a lamp (and a bucket truck). Razz Laughing
