Here's a close up view of the fixture tag on my B2255, most of the specs are faded but can still be read under a bright light. The tag itself is in pretty good condition.

^Sorry, I kind of forgot to reply to your comment but Niall, it's too bad they stuck a NEMA tag over the Sylvania tag, anyways I 've recently made a repo of the tag and have linked it above feel free to use it and PM me if you want a higher res one.
It seems like the hosting service I used back then deleted the graphic. I'll have to find the original on my computer and reupload elsewhere. BTW, did you see my pic of the recessed merc can?
I saw your can this afternoon but didn't get a chance to comment before leaving for work. Ah thanks. I'm going to try and print one on tin foil at school with a laser printer once I (or if I) get the two lights. What is the LX for? And what would be the model number for the R37? Just R37? I notice the code for the "B####" lights is actually "BC####".
Ahh, I believe the LX stands for LumaluX which was Sylvania's brand for HPS. I believe the mercury ones were just refered to as BC-####. Not sure about the MH ones but it might be MCBC#### or MABC####. Not sure about the R37 but on my R47 the model is R47G then followed by the lamp type and wattage.
Ah I see. So the wattage wasn't referenced in the BC model numbers? Do you know the precise year they went from B2227 to the R37 name? I'm guessing the ones I'm after are from the 80s. I assume they're R37s since they lack the Powerlite engraving on the door.
Yeah only the R47 had a model number that referenced the wattage. I'm not actually when they switched from the B2227 to R37 designation but it has to be the 80s since the late 70s ones were still known as B2227s. Interesting that they lack the Powerlite engraving, my B2255 is branded Sylvania on the label but still has the Powerlite engraving.
As for the tag it measures 2 7/8" by 1 3/4" but I tend to round the longer side to 3" to line up with the NEMA tags.

and Form109 this is a early HPS ballast so it would have a higher ballast loss
