Powerlite Mini Gumball Mounted
Since the mini gumball was so light and tiny, I decided to mount it up in the my room. I used a short arm for a yardlight I had lying around. It's actually running a 3500K LED in this pic but the camera made it sorta MV lol.

Nice! I see you had a clear merc running in the background though. Smile

Nice! It must look good with the CGE's Cool

Thanks, yeah it would look good with my CGE signals xP. That light in the background isn't actually a clear merc lol. Its some LEDs made to look like a clear merc. Cool

Oh wow you really fooled me!

Yeah I have a RGB LED strip behind my monitors for accent and mood lighting. They're pretty neat since they can be programmed for specific colours. Usually I have them set to emulate a clear merc.

Incandescent normally? or is it made for remote ballasted? Nice fixture by the way I have a McGraw Edison version!

By the way the closest color LED to a clear merc...just look up "Ice Blue LEDs"

Thanks Jace! and welcome back! Yeah I think these fixtures were originally designed for 200-300w incandescent (it only has a medium base). Most I've seen still in use have been converted to remote ballasted 100w MV though.

yeah just like my McGraw Edison Canadian gumboil...

A boiler in a streetlight Laughing

I'm pretty sure he meant to say gumball LOL.

Laughing It sure did feel like a gumboil when I had the 300w incandescent in the other day. Razz

For the longest time I was wondering if Joslyn made a version of the mini gumball since mine came with a refractor stamped with the Josyln logo. A recent pic on LG answered my question lol. I'm pretty sure the Josyln refractors are original to the Powerlite mini gumballs as everyone I've seen used that refractor.

Anyway, it seems like Josyln and Powerlite shared a lot of refractor designs in their early lights.

I totally love that thimble shaped glass. Cool

Me too. They look awesome when paired up with either a clear merc or a CMH.
