The fact that this is preheat makes it that much cooler! I'll probably get some more in the future, the Restore has a million of these things LOL, I got one so far.
I noted that while in Europe the magnetic ballasted energy saving CFLs wasn't a large success and weren't so common, in Japan and North America, they were a huge success despite the huge weight of the lamps, mains flickering, humming, very large size, inefficiency compared to electronic lamps and the flashing during ignition.
The numbers of japaneses and americans brands of magnetically ballasted energy saving CFLs were (And still are) much larger in comparison to the number of european brands.
Production of magnetically ballasted CFLs in the US, Canada and in Japan is still alive in comparison to Europe where these lamps discontinued and considered obsolete today.
Similar thing happened in the UK.
Why this is happened?
Even here the magnetic CFLs have become kinda hard to find now but a rare few may still be made today. These Panasonic CFLs I was talking about are NOS from '92.
