I know of at least two wooden pole mounted mercury gumballs in the city of LA. One is on the PCH near Washington Blvd in Venice. The other is on Sunset Blvd somewhere west of the 405.

Is this a scanned page? Then I would be more comfortable, if you can put down references and info of this book and info...

By the way I bet those were lit by clear mercs?

The pic is from the book series "Images of America - Seal Beach" pp87. There are a lot of other pics of old series street lights in it.
