Tapered refractor NEMA on Whidbey Island
This is effectively lighting a narrow residential street but is installed on a house. I was thrilled to see it, as I have an identical one, made by American Electric. Though mine also sports a vintage clear-top mercury lamp, I don't have the vintage silver photocontrol or arm that this one has.

the tapered cone refractors are less common in my area than the regular untapered ones.

These are uncommon here. The regular thin buckets are used on the nema heads here.
