My bedroom's exit sign!
I recently noticed that I had a front panel that had the arrow just in the right direction! It points at right, which is indeed the direction of the nearest exit! It makes the setup even more realistic.

So I installed it above my bedroon's door. Full size with two Sylvania 15W A15 inside frosted lamps. Unlike what's told about incandescent exit signs, it is bright and letters are evenly lit.

But it's true that those newer exit signs with 15W T6.5 lamps don't have the best light distribution...

Nice! I'm thinking of trying to get my parents into letting me mount my exit sign in my room. I've been debating wether to use the green or red panel... Anyways, I'll have to make a plug in switched outlet (i'll upload a sketch of what I'm talking about soon LOL). But i know how my dad is with drilling holes in the wall and how my mom is with me "screwing with electricity". Sad Laughing

Hey Mike, you should try using this to hide the cord. A 18g cord with ground should fit nicely in there which is more than enough for a exit sign.

Mine is mounted like that and is switched using a pull chain switch mounted in the junction box.

Ehh. Since it'd onyl be until i move out I don't think it's worth it. I DID however, build a switched outlet today! The duplex switch/receptacle is mounted in a PVC box that plugs into the wall. I can plug the exit sign (or anything) into it! I snipped the end off a computer monitor cord and that works well for both the outlet and sign. I propped the exit sign up for some pics and i have to say it looks quite nice. Smile
