It looks like the ballast is one of those two chokes in one case ballasts.

there's another set of screws at the other end so there must be two separate potted chokes in there. They could be HPF too for the screw spacing! Very Happy

BTW, do yuo see the lamp etch? looks like an inside etch! Very Happy

Yeah it does, I've yet to encounter a inside etch lamp. Shocked

it turns out it might be. someone on the LG dated this to the first quarter of 1961. Shocked Very Happy

Nice! I only have a few lamps that are as old or older than it.

i hope they work! they don't look that used. the wiring down there is a real rats nest like Andy had guessed. a lot of spider webs on this light and the possibly-WWII light. hopefully i don't find anything inside any of the lights. there were a few earwigs in the light i got from them on before.

This reminds me of the old fluorescent streetlight found near a beach near my place. Thankfully it's still there, but mounted on a fresh pole. Still uses a steel arm though.

However, I don't think It was assembled this way, as the bulbs looked like they were stacked in the vertical position

Cool! Yeah this one is an indoor fixture but i think a 2ft fluorescent street light would be cool. Is it still in service? Can you post a pic of it? (Go to "create/ order my albums" at the top [it's a gray box below "Hey, curtdjdj, you have X messages, X are new" and the date]. Then once you've created an album, go to "UPLOAD FILE" located on the yellow tab above "Hey, curtdjdj, you have X messages, X are new" and the date.) Cool

Ok sure thing. Thanks.
