Here I picked up at Kmart at Johnson Ferry Shopping Center, East Cobb, Marietta, GA, USA last Saturday (2012-3-4) which was recently switched over from Sears.  This one seems to have a newer package.

My grandparents use these but we use the 50-200-250 ones in my house lol.

it cheaper for me to use them for high wattage bulbs since i can get them at Dollar stores. i just solder the second ring to the center
then i got 250 watt lamps

@crazyLamp And , you also get a backup filament when one burns out, you would know when to replace it because it would get dimmer.

What happens when a 3-way lamp is operated on a regular socket? Will it just light both filaments?

It does work, on the middle setting I think. I've done it before!
