Here is well used General Electric EBW #B2 PhotoFlood light bulb.

My father purchased the light and the fixture in 1970's since he was into photography as I gotten interested into it.

yep. the reason for that is because the lamp is severely overdriven to get better color rendering and brightness out of the lamp. This is a flash lamp, I think they're used in those umbrella type lights that are used as the flash for professional photography. I have one of these in the original packaging though it's slightly used.
