Outdoor PL Fluorescent Fixture Idea
|
This is an Outdoor PL Fixture im currently in the process of creating...the Parts i already have are shown above, and a diagram of all the parts when complete below.
the Photocell is a Woods though i still need a PC Socket.
Whatever the Grey Thing is (Conduit Junction?) i decided it might be worth buying to create a small fixture, though the 16 Dollar Price is a little steep for that piece alone...it is made of aluminimum which is a plus, the current setup is to have the photocell in the top threaded hole and a threaded pipe for the arm fitting in the 1-1/4" Threaded End Hole...the Ballast and socket are coming from another member,i'll likely buy the lamp locally, and a PC Socket has to come from somewhere eventually before its all complete.
Michale later created a similar fixture with This Idea except his is incandescent with a Plastic Body and a button PC instead of a Twistlock.

BTW I heard them being called conduit bodies, conduit LBs, or even Condulets although the last one is Crouse-Hind's name for it.
what about a Band Saw?
I Have a Jig Saw.
Not sure if you can cut metal with a jig saw though
and im sure i can find a PC Socket on the net or maybe someone on one of the lighting sites.
But whatever it's your project you don't have to follow my suggestions
