I didn't know GE made "snow cone" style LED lamps. I know when they first introduced their LED A-line, they touted their finned design as being superior. See my lamp to compare). It appears they now make 40W and 60W equivalent lamps in both shapes. The new lamps use less energy (7W vs. 9W; 11W vs. 13W) but won't direct as much as much light towards the base.

This was the first time I have seen on the shelf at the Sam's Warehouse. The same store are also selling other LEDs bulbs as well. I haven't gotten around to posting the LED floodlight that I got earlier this year that I picked up at the same location.

I've seen GE LED lamps like this one, but they're expensive! I'm going to wait 'till the price comes down a little before I buy one...

how much do the finned ones go for? IMO those seem better distribution wise than the one above.
