Ideaworks Dimmable LED Night Light Here I found that in Home Trends catalog and bought it for set of 2 for US$ 12.99. It arrived today (2010-7-17) and tested one of the light. Occasionally it would brighten in some bumping around. I took the liberty to take it apart (Since it was held by 3 tiny screw and a dab of glue!) I found that the photocell was not solder it correctly (Not enough flux to bond the wires). I found that the dimming control is nothing but a shield to control the light feedback to the photocell. I don't understand... night lights are not bright at all, especially LED ones. Why would you ever need to dim something that is dim already?

I was pursuing an investingation on how to prolong the life of the LED's since my past experience with previous LED night light that dimmed out as it aged and ultimately failed less than two year. I wanted to find a LED night light that is underdriven so it would last longer. Hey, it is for your benefit that I have documented and post it for anyone who is interested in buying the rip off night lights Smile

All of our chinese PC based LED nightlights imported to Israel have this feature and this "Dimmable Photocell" behavior don't prolong the life of the LEDs in them as far as i know.
In my mother home at my room, i have an unbranded chinese LED nightlight with a dimmable photocell and despite this, after several months it is only half the initial brightness.
