Just Got an Almost-New Stop Sign!

Got this last night. It was installed back around Christmastime (they kept the same pole but replaced the faded 24" non-reflective sign with this 30" diamond grade relfective sign and an "ALL WAY" plaque). Anyway, the pole got hit by a plow with the first snow storm so it was buried under snow from February until the end of March. Last week they put put a new sign identical to this (but no "ALL WAY" plaque).

I waited a week after the new one was put up and this sign was still there, face-down at the curb next to the new one so I got in my dad's truck and snagged it. I'd say it's fair game. And a heck of a score too; the thing's virtually brand-spanking-new with not a scratch on it! The only problem is that I can't get the bolts off. They're not rusted (except for the rounded heads since the sign was face-down) but the nuts are recessed into the U-channel post so my tools can't reach the bolts. I'll have to find a Sawzall and see if I can trim the bolts short enough to use my socket wrench to remove the nuts.

The entire section of pole is 8ft long. They had added an extra 2ft on top of the pole when they replaced the 24" sign with this to maintain a similar height off the ground.

I already have a decent amount of traffic signs (including a 36" reflective stop sign my grandpa gave me when I was three; it's a little beat up since it was knocked over in a crash on a freeway ramp. My grandpa saw the crash and came back at night and grabbed the sign for me lol.) This one in the pic wasn't ran over though, the weight of the compacted snow against it was too much for the pole and it gave way.
