streetlight98, the Cooper OVX offers 50-400 watts.
GullWhiz   [Jul 29, 2011 at 06:55 PM]
Yes OVM did come out MH in the later 90s. OVM were still available in the 90s. The OVS was discontinued first, but the OVM was still in production longer.
tpirman1982   [Jul 29, 2011 at 06:59 PM]
I never saw any MH versions of OVMs.
GullWhiz   [Jul 29, 2011 at 07:01 PM]
Just because you never seen them does not mean it does not exist, I have never seen you take pictures of streetlights OUTSIDE of Massachuttes...there are a lot of other lights that are not in Massachuttes because there are different electrical companies that have preferred source, brands and stuff...

I myself NEVER saw a 35 watt HPS Cobrahead...does that mean they don't exist?
tpirman1982   [Jul 29, 2011 at 07:18 PM]
Well, I'ev never been outside Massachusetts before. It's hard to travel outside of Massachusetts on account of money for air fare, etc.

@Jace: yeah Ive seen a GE NEMA Bucket in 35W HPS Before, but never that low of a wattage in a corbra, lowest I've seen in a cobra is 50W HPS which is DIM!
Here we have some 175W MH OVX's with DX MVs In some

"streetlight98, the Cooper OVX offers 50-400 watts."
The OVX is a small size lume. Wink
I don't think a 35w HPS on a road would light anything on the road. Laughing
TiCoune66   [Jul 29, 2011 at 09:13 PM]
Yup, there exists ton of things that we've not seen before!

A given lighting setup stays hypothetical as long as nobody saw one in service. Although some setups can be considered impossible (like a 1000W Cooper OVZ LOL).

A good example is the (scarce) /X mercury vapour lamp. Only a few collectors such as Joe Maurath have the chance to own one. I've never heard of the 400W model, but it probably exists. There's maybe one of these collecting dust somewhere in North America, waiting for a collector!
gailgrove   [Jul 29, 2011 at 09:17 PM]
Well even a 1KW OVZ is possible, a cram (BT37) 1KW lamp would fit in the OVZ and then the ballast could be mounted remotely or it might even fit!
streetlight98   [Jul 30, 2011 at 02:50 AM]
I think he meant as a factory order. There are some special requests that can't be made. Cooper may be willing to do that, but I know GE refuses to do certain things.
gailgrove   [Jul 30, 2011 at 03:12 AM]
I'm sure they'll do whatever you want if you have the money.
Form109   [Jul 30, 2011 at 03:18 AM]
@streetlight98 sure 35 Watts lights good.....if the light was 10 Feet from the ground. Laughing
A_lights   [Jul 30, 2011 at 03:41 AM]
Yes that's very true Devonte, I have seen 50 or 70W MH mini Shoeboxes light a pathwalk well!
gailgrove   [Jul 30, 2011 at 03:43 AM]
Lots of companies make shoe boxes in three sizes, that's not too rare.
A_lights   [Jul 30, 2011 at 03:58 AM]
What about the ones for kids shoes? Or even gull feet? Shocked Razz Laughing
GullWhiz   [Jul 30, 2011 at 04:40 AM]
35 watt HPS Cobraheads actually exist in tpirmans area! I was making a point, that I myself never seen one personally does not mean those those does not exist. David F. (Tpirman) actually saw 35 watt cobras but I haven't but I know they exist....I was making a point that you can't say something doesn't exist in your area doesn't mean they never existed...
tpirman1982   [Jul 30, 2011 at 02:34 PM]
Yes! In Canton and Westwood, MA!
streetlight98   [Jul 30, 2011 at 02:49 PM]
AEL and Cooper had 35w listed on their 115, 315 and OVZ before. Now i think only the 315 does.
tpirman1982   [Jul 30, 2011 at 02:59 PM]
The only things I've seen 35 watts of in Canton are the Cooper OVG, and Crouse-Hinds OVS, and the Thomas & Betts Model 113. In Westwood: American Electric Model 115, Thomas & Betts Model 113, Crouse-Hinds OVS and OVZ. I think those'll be my next uploads in a 35-watt special.
streetlight98   [Jul 30, 2011 at 03:02 PM]
GE doesn't offer 35w cobraheads from what I've seen. The minimun wattage I've seen here is 50w. For HPS, 70w, 150w and 200w isn't used here, and 100 and 250 are the majority of lights here.
