StreetLight #185 - Some Sorta 'HomeMade' Glare Shield?? All I can assume with this one is that the house right behind it complained about the light shining in windows...so the county road-crews went and added this piece of sheetmetal as a glare shield. This is actually a legit glareshield, I went by this light today and saw that it was definitely one that is produced, not home made or anything. They put it here because the people who installed the light didn't want to intrude the houses with the light so they put it up, I doubt it was requested, though it might have been.

That's ugly! I don't mind the glare sheilds that look like dog cones but the rest are just odd looking lol. And yep, that's a M-250R2 full cut-off (flat lens).

Interesting...I truly thought they just stuck a piece of sheetmetal up there - because it certainly looks as such LOL

I'm pretty sure it was added, I don't remember it always being there. One day going by I was like 'they added something to that light'
Seeing as how that house right behind it has that big window in line with the light I could see someone complaining...

The utility should just say "buy some curtains". I mean, this light is already FCO to begin with. Here you're S.O.L. if you want a light shield since they don't install them here. And we use drop lens.

LOL personally I'd want curtains/blinds just so people couldn't look inside.
Here it seems FCO or Drop Lens is kinda random, I see both being used around (have even seen both at in the same intersection on opposite corners)

same. in some parts of the state FCO anddrop lens is mixed. FCOs are older and drop lens is newer because the old utility company used FCO but NGrid uses drop lens in RI (they use FCO in Massachusetts though which is odd).
