Insides again after more tidying up.
Put some more of those wire ties in there to tidy it up more.

I think this looks very neat, don't you think?

Other than that, which model 25's use two capacitors, since there are two places to HOLD the capacitor.

Was there different types of reflectors for the Model 25's? Cause Niall's 25 looks like it has a completely different socket than this one.

Hmm, maybe they used different reflectors for FCO and drop lens like GE.

I wonder why AE (And other brand associated with it) Liked to weld the brackets ON the ballast and then have only two screws to mount it. Three of my fixtures (and that AE 125 ballast) are that way. The new 115 is the only one not with a welded ballast.

Why did they weld the bracket on instead of screw it on?

Could have been easier and cheaper. Less time to assemble and thus lower labor costs.

They could of screwed the brackets on instead of welding. Drilling a small hole in the balast and screwing it in is easier than welding.

They could have used the brackets that screwed on to the ballast holes too. I like removable brackets more since I can easily swap ballasts around.

I like screwed on ballast brackets too, but they used what they used. When the ballast dies, you better make sure you can fit another one in there without the bracket.

Or use universal brackets.

They still could of mounted the ballast the same way but they just SCREWED the ballast onto the side instead of just welding them. But the brackets are in the same place. and the ballast mounted the same.

AE tends to mount their ballasts sideways, with the side of the ballast aiming at the bottom. And the coils facing the reflector and the Slipfitter, rather than the coils facing UP like Cooper and GE do. I wonder why AE liked to do that..

It fits better that way for them. Their ballasts and fixtures are made differently, so this is the best way to fit the ballast. You can't screw the brackets in the opposite way than the orional holes are! Shocked you'll drill into the coils!!

But they COULD of designed the housing differently, with more screw holes. and mount the ballast a similar way as the coopers or the GE fixtures.

Where the ballast-holes are utilized and used instead of not used. xD

I think Ian was talking mounting the bracket like this so that the holes will match a welded bracket.

I've noticed Powerlite fixtures use both ballast positions, my B2255 has a vertically mounted ballast and my R47 has a horizontally mounted ballast.

I didn't actually think about doing it that way. o.o But that way is probably better than my idea.

I probably am going to remount my ballast in my M-250 R2 to be that way.

Ian, why are you so fussed up about how the ballast is mounted?!?! It's not s big deal. Yes, they could have mounted it differently, but is it really something to quarrel over?
