I never got why people patch the gap between the pole and base, it traps water and makes the pole rust faster. Just use a cover you don't like the gap.

I quite like the design of these Art Form bases but I can't see any reason why someone would do this. I also wonder why concrete poles aren't used more in area lighting. Confused

Yeah, I rarely seen concrete used in area lighting, I only know of a few lot with concrete poles.

They're just decorative bases, hence the brand Art Form. Razz Laughing

The band is just for decoration... Here the bases are typically painted yellow unless they're in an island.

Hmm, there are some yellow bases here but most are from older 70s and 80s setups. Most newer setups are bare concrete.
