yeah they are much deeper than the AEL 125's but the AEL 325 Powerpad looks just as deep as the GE.
i still question to this day how another manufacturer basically clones a fixture from another make and avoids a law suit...the AEL 125 Existed almost 10 Years before the 1997 Era M-400's showed up,and the similarities are definetly there.
The GE's design actually is way different. The 125's use only 2 ballast screws, like the 115, the reflector is different, Where things are placed are different. It isn't exactly the same design. They just look similar on the outside.
Oh, I agree with Ian, the new M-400's and M-400A's need better FCO optics. The 125 and 325 on the other hand, well the street side socket FCO ones have good distribution
I will agree with the street side socket optics! They are great, at least from what I have seen on the 115's as those are what we use. We still use the M400A3's. We have a few 325's on our system w/ house side sockets in FCO and they are horrible IMO! They look like an M250 that should have a drop refractor but is missing the lense! But yes if comparing a 325 w/ street side socket to an M400A3 w/ FCo optics then yes the 325 is better!
The M-400 R/A(3)'s have the same reflector for FCO and Drop lens. So do the new M-250 R2's They both just have the FCO reflector from before. GE sure has gotten lazy.
No, new M-250R2 FCO still have the special FCO lens. Your utility probably takes out the refractor and puts in a slab of glass to save money. I see new FCO M-250R2 with the special FCO lens pop up around here.
You didn't read my message correctly. The drop lens has the FCO reflector. So the FCO has the special FCO reflector and so do the drop lens. They both have the same reflector. That M-250r2 pic opened up is an example of it. It was factory intended. Jace told me GE does that now to save money.

The FCO has a TERRIBLE Lighting distribution. There is a streak in the middle D:
