Newest addition: M-250 R2.
One of the new deigns, which I was looking for. As you see it has the old NEMA tag font on it, this was made in August, 2002, a YEAR after my OVX was made!

This M-250 R2 is better than my other one, this one actually has the things to keep the reflector steady unlike the last one.

Here is the light when it was in service.. Heck, it was in service yesterday morning probably! I think they took this down yesterday in favor of a road widening project. I was hanging under this light a lot Wednesday when it was still in service and now lookie here, it's mine.

Here is the street view:

How do you know if they weren't going to reuse this? Confused I hope you got permission to take this.....
LilCinnamon   [Feb 18, 2012 at 06:26 AM]
Don't worry, they aren't gonna re-use this fixture. It's fine that I took it.

The door is very loose, I wonder how to tighten that latch so it isn't as loose...

Yes, but how do you know that they weren't going to reuse it? Unless you got permission to take it from the lineman, you stole the utility's property. Sad As for the latch, it depends. if anything, you could rebend the latch so it snaps in better. Can you post a pic of the latch?
LilCinnamon   [Feb 18, 2012 at 05:32 PM]
The latch is actually the same as the others, and looks the same too. It might be a fault with the door or something, I don't know. I tried bending it but the latch wouldn't bend. I tried another latch it did the same thing, so I am not sure..
streetlight98   [Feb 18, 2012 at 05:35 PM]
Hmm. If it's stayed up there since 2002 and hasn't fallen off I guess there's nothing to worry about...

I thought you weren't getting any more lights? And stealing them isn't right, even if it is tempting and they aren't going to reuse it, I don't see the appeal of M250R2s any ways, I want to get rid of some of mine...
LilCinnamon   [Feb 18, 2012 at 05:50 PM]
I don't think it has been up there that long. But it has definitely been up there for a long time.

I got the latch a bit tighter. I used a different latch and bent that one a bit, it works better now. Still a little loose but a bit tighter.

I wonder what happened to the much wider "25" NEMA tags? They were wider but then they made them the narrow font like on the "40" ones.

I know in 2007 they changed the font completly.

And I didn't steal this light. I was able to take it. I don't steal things, It's just not something I do. They took a bunch down for the road widening project. And I got to have one of them.

If a lineman gave this to you how come you didn't just say that? Neutral
gailgrove   [Feb 18, 2012 at 06:12 PM]
Okay, but what about some of those lights you "find" at the side of the road?
LilCinnamon   [Mar 08, 2012 at 01:48 PM]
I have to give away some of my lights, parents are forcing me to. Sadly. They only want e to have 20 but I have almost 30 so that is like TEN lights I Have to get rid of! Ugh it makes me mad why I have to get rid of so many. I dunno which I want to get rid of plus I don't want to get rid of ANY Of them! I already have a couple for trade.. Those won't change.
