Indicator Controls Corp Traffic Signal
|
Here is my new traffic signal.
They were working on the signals in evergreen... There were already two of them re-done. And it seems they just threw the old traffic signals in a big pile. In the pile lots were busted up. This one was one of the few in good condition... So I picked this and the pedestrian signal up.
The back says "Indicator Controls Corp" and the front says "LEXALITE"
I assume LEXALITE is the model of this thing... I am not so sure. Does the traffic signal expert in here know?

Where where the signals though, at a works yard?
It's true it's generally better to ask......but then again....if I found a broken light in the middle of the road.....I would probably take it....
Indicator Controls Corporation (ICC) is the manufacturer. Lexalite is a plastics company that produced the plastic parts for ICC and other signal brands. Lexalite makes plastic for many different applications including plastic lenses.
Were these GE LED modules the ones before the GELcores like the ones I have?
GELCore was the trade name for GE LEDs till about 2007. Its now known as GE Lumination. The model you have is GE RX-11 and yes those came after the ones in your ICC.
RX-11 have a high failure rate due to not having a resistor in series with an LED in the parallel circuit. This causes overheating of LEDs and strings can burn out.
