I wouldn't expect the city to take action. There are way more important issues to deal with.

Well there is a city department that deals only with street lighting, they even had the time to come out at night and use a measuring device to determine the light output wasn't that bright.

The light from the 100w M-250R2 shineing in my window is terrible. That's why i have something called a room darkening shade! Obviosly something they've never heard of before.

A 70 watt HPS streetlight (6,300 lumens) isn't that bright, a 100 watt HPS streetlight (9,500 lumens) is way too bright for residential areas such as this. Those neighbors need to get a life.

100w isn't too bright. 150 watts is too bright. Most of Cranston's residential streets are lit my 100w HPS. National Grid refuses to use 70w HPS for some reason, so it's either 50 or 100w. 50w is too dim for street lighting IMO even if mounted every pole. 50w should just be used for yard lighting.

My area uses 100w HPS cobras and a couple of my neighbours have HPS tallpacks lighting their backyard which faces my window...I use blinds and doubled up curtains over my window.

Lukily no one but me uses HID in their yard but me in the surrounding houses. There are some yardblasters some streets down. One's a brand new regent one (I'm guessing HPS) and the other one i know of is a very old one on a house a street from me. I think it's mercury vapor, but I've never seen either lit to comfirm what I think.

Well to be fair to them I have a 35w HPS wallpack mounted on the wall facing them and a 100w MV yardlight in the backyard.

In front of my house there is a 150 watt posttop (the house side faces my house) I am not complaining...in fact I used to sleep with the sun shining in front of my house because I used to work overnight! I have those special shades that makes my room dark almost like night!

Why does the house side face your house? I would report that since it isn't lighting the road.

House side faces house...the street side faces the road! That's good man! LOL House side means it must point at house....so it is doing that, and that's correct installation LOL

Oops, I though you said the street side faces your house But the house side wouldn't really put out any light would it? The TwistPak has a shield in it so almost no light comes out of it on the house side.

it's a GE Salem Posttop, a FCO style posttop, so it has a lamp on top housing lighting down...the other 4 fixtures in my neighborhood are Cooper Traditionares and they are not FCO, they have 4 refractors....one for house side, one for left side one for right side, and finally a street side! (unless you make it different like 2 street sides and 2 house side for intersections...its so custom, easier to control light than the FCO LOL!)

Okay, in front of my house there is a TwistPak in the middle on the "island" in front of my house since it is a dead end road. It doesn't have a house side shield obviously so it shines in my window at night, it's only 70 watts though and I have good curtains so I don't mind.

Well, there is no house side. Cool that you have a rotary type culdesac. Here we have culdesacs that are opened, kind of like a mini parkign lot.

The ones in my neighbourhood looks the same as the ones you described, Michael.

Yep that's where the name came from It was back in 2008 when I originally used that username for youtube and have used it almost everywhere else since Some of the cul-de-sacs in my area are like the type Michael mentioned but many are like mine, I like the design of mine better!

Yeah i like your's better too. But I've only seen these types in condo neighboorhoods.

Some older neighbourhoods here have a "island" in the dead ends too, this one came with a tree of Powerlite B2217s.

Wow. Three lights for a puny island culdesac is a bit of a overkill.
