This was the oddest thing I saw in Montreal, a OV-25 located in the middle of the road 10 feet off the ground! It is 250 watts and runs during the day, this is just too strange...

Yeah I've seen this a couple times before in Quebec, must be their version of the median beacon.

Yeah, I guess it is. It still seems like it would be horribly glary at night, if I had to do this I would at least use a lower wattage light.

I guess maybe it was done so the relamping crews would be able to use the same lamps they already where using for the other roadway fixtures.

Back in the day there might have been a cobrahead with a caution yelow merc lamp in it...
