This is at the museum, we have a few around. This one works but it needs to be plugged in, there is a cable running down the pole with a plug on the end.
If i mounted one of my lights on the deck, that's how it would be though. I'd run an extension cord from the light to the outlet up on the deck. If i could I'd run it to the same switch as the deck light, but that's not really possible. So if it was mounted it either wouldn't be connected at all, or it would be connected to the outlet on the deck.
I'm not sure, I think they might be from the Town of Acton since I did see an old gumball at a school there, it is on a utility pole and still connected, I'm pretty sure the lamp was dead though and the refractor was missing, I'll try to get a pic soon (you can't see it from streetview).
Well, here's the old gumballs I was talking about...most of them were removed a few years ago but the old poles are still up and there's a pole that still has a gumball attached.
