SHINY! and that ballast on your sportslighter is HUGE! Shocked

Very nice. Can you post a side view of this? thanks. Smile

Yep, nice and shiny! I'm working on getting a setup where I can take proper side shots. The ballast on the sports lighter is huge! In fact the whole light is.

If you have a pickit fence you can do what I do. Razz

Or if he has a chain link fence too.
gailgrove   [Nov 05, 2011 at 03:35 AM]
Nope, I have a fence like this. I have an idea but I want to wait and see if it will work.
streetlight98   [Nov 05, 2011 at 03:36 AM]
It would depend on the type of chain-link fence. Some have a pole that runs horizontal along the top of the fence, blocking the vertical pole tops.

Use the corner or end poles, my fence is the same type as Niall's fence so I don't have a place to mount my stuff.

@Niall, so many Powerlites in there. Very Happy

My thought is I could get a yardblaster arm and mount it to one of the posts with the small mounting holes, I would use through bolt since I wouldn't trust screws to hold the arm in place. I would never store the lights there, just put them up to take pictures and maybe light the yard on special occasions.

If you can make a stand similar to your traffic signal's stand, you can fit a yardblaster arm on top of the pole and it will look kind of like a davit in a way. just make a heavy base. EDIT: your idea sounds good too.

Well if he has access to a conduit bender he could make a mini davit. Very Happy Just be sure to put some 1kW ballasts on the base though.

I could see about that but it would have to be a heavy base, maybe some concrete blocks sandwiched between two pieces of plywood. I don't have a conduit bender but could get access to one easily, the only problem is I would want to use 2 inch pipe which is impossible to bend by hand, another option is I could use steel piping like I use for my signal stand and put a 45 degree fitting in and then another piece of pipe to come out a little more, it would be a lot of work and it would have to be heavy! I may do it some day though, I've thought about it before.
