Formerly Michael's, Now Mine!
Well I got this Cooper HPS wall light from Michael on Friday! It is a nice little light that I may mount outside, I screwed it to the basement wall for now. Thanks Michael!

Your welcome! i'm glad I could find a home for it and that everything is in as good shape as it was when it left me. Very Happy BTW, do you have the NEMA tags I sent?
gailgrove   [Dec 13, 2011 at 08:19 PM]
Yep I got the tags! I'll post a picture of them soon. Just a bit of advice, when you wire things like this you should always use some sort of cable clamp, otherwise the wires can become pretty damaged from rubbing against the metal. As you can see I added one, after I opened the fixture up and looked inside. Wink

I don't bother with those on lights i have in my collection. Now, for lights that I install I always use those, but I keep a close enough eye on my lights that of the wires became damaged, i'd catch it.

Wire clamps are even more important on portable lights because of the higher chances that the cord will chafe on the metal and result in short. I always use a wire clamp in my lights unless it's not possible(like on a cobrahead, traffic light, etc).

On my MH wallpack there's a clamp. it's the only light I currently own that can accept one. This light in particular, didn't have one because I didn't have any spare clamps at the time and this light saw maybe 3-4 hours max use by me in the 2 years or so that I owned this, so i didn't really see the need. The few I have are of this style:

I use those for flat cords but for round cords I prefer this style more:

I prefer them as well, I only had that style in my toolbox though so I just used it.

How much did this fixture cost when you first bought it Michael?
streetlight98   [Apr 04, 2012 at 09:45 PM]
The origional retail price was $52 and change. It was marked down to $15 and I got it for free with a gift card. I got a free Sylvania lamp too since the yellow clearance label mentioned a lamp in the description but there wasn't one. So i used my "smart shopper's skills" lol.
