And on an arm most likely made by Utility Metals! It's series wired right? It looks like it is....which could be why its still MV because they have series ballast in stock?
GE still has the series ballast option for the M-250A2 but the ballast is top mounted which makes me wonder why they don't just make series M-250R2 lights instead.
Looks like this is NOS since it has an older 1990s Thomas & Betts NEMA tag (font is round and thin compared to AEL's bold squarish font).
M-250R3? LOL I have no idea. If they were to make a "next generation M-250" is would probably just be called the M-250 and M-250A. That's what they did with the current generation of the M-400, it's the M-400 and M-400A. The M-400R3/M-400A3 names are so annoying.
My guess as to why they haven't introduced a new small fixtures is because the M-250R2 is pretty compact as it is. I guess now it's a little late in the game too. If GE hasn't introduced any new cobraheads by now I don't think they ever will since manufacturers are full-steam ahead with the LED movement. So I guess the 115 will remain the newest fixture model, introduced in the early 2000s. I can't say for sure though but I don't expect any new cobrahead models to come out.
and on that note mike why don't they also make a M250R3?
