Suprise find!
|
I was getting some circuit boards for parts when I noticed a round metal dish-looking thing that was strangely familiar to me. Then I saw it was a Sylvania bracket fixture! I could very well have missed it since it wasn't very visible despite being on the top of the heap!
Turns out it's a 400W MV, from 04/86, and working like a charm! The bottom left inset shows the fixture during its test run. At first I was confused by the current measurements. It showed almost 5A to lamp and 3 line amps during warm up, then the final values turned out to be 3.1A to lamp and 3.8 line amps, perfect! I used my Sylvania H33GL-T400/DX for the test by the way.
Though I'm still a little unsure why the current was higher during warmup. Being a constant-current ballast it shouldn't act this way.
