My M-250R Lit in my Snow-Covered Backyard
|
I figured I'd grab a few shots of my M-250R lit in the backyard before the snow in my backyard melts. We had 24" to begin with but it's compacted down to 12"-18" now. There's a cool shadow effect on the drifts (those aren't foot prints; all my footprints are not in view of the picture). The snow is awesome because you can see a more defined distribution pattern. You may not see it that great from the pic, but in person you can clearly see a pretty well-defined oval of light under the fixture showing the distribution pattern.
The light is MUCH greener in person. The picture doesn't do it justics. To achieve the rich green light (which doesn't present itself that well in the pic) I'm using a new 175W MV lamp and a VERY brown plastic refractor, which tints the light. With a /DX lamp, the refractor creates a nice comfortable warm white light (similar to a warm-tone MV lamp, but it's just a /DX lamp with the browned out refractor acting as a filter).
The light in the background on the right-ish side is a 100W HPS GE M-250R2 on the street behind my house, which runs parallel to my street.

Beautiful! MV and snow always look nice together, a similar scene is often achieved in my backyard except it's a clear lamp in a refractorless yardblaster, so the snow-covered trees light up too.
I'll give you two stars for this shot
